| How do I do brain training?
Brain fitness training works best when done intensively at first, with one or two sessions every day for the first series of sessions. This gives the new neural pathways a chance to establish themselves with less chance for rebounding to old patterns.

We begin with an assessment, which provides us with a map of your brain, revealing imbalances and areas of over-activation and/or under-activation. The assessment includes a questionnaire about your history, your current life challenges and habits, and your goals for brain training. We then select the precise training protocols to meet your unique needs. |
Each training session lasts up to 2 hours and includes five to eight different training protocols to work with the various areas of your brain that need attention. |
Most people require at least ten sessions—and often more—for the changes they wish to make; many find it helpful to return for follow-up sessions from time to time. |
| What happens in a session?
The client sits or reclines in our ultra-comfortable “zero-gravity” chair while sensors are precisely placed on the scalp. The sensors transmit the electrical activity of the brain to the computer, which then provides immediate auditory feedback about that activity through headsets. The brain responds to the feedback by activating certain frequencies and de-activating others—entirely on its own. The auditory feedback is a pleasant, varied mix of sounds: bells, chimes, tones, and chords. The client may help the training process by visualizing images of balance, calmness, joyful activity, or other suggested scenes.
Some clients choose to remain fairly passive, allowing the feedback to work largely unconsciously with the brain. Others train more actively by paying attention to their inner responses. For example, they might discover patterns of tension or anxiety that they can then consciously release with the help of the feedback.
Some people experience marked results after the first one or two sessions; others need more time to notice the changes. Some changes are dramatic, others more subtle. Clients respond and change at their own pace and in their own unique way. |
Follow-up Coaching
Brain State training can be life-changing, and many people find it helpful to work with a counselor or coach to integrate the changes more fully into their daily lives and work.
